STILL NOT SURE IF THIS IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

HERE ARE SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS THAT MIGHT HELP.

WHAT IS A CARBON FOOTPRINT REPORT?

Our impact report give you a breakdown of the difference in carbon dioxide emissions between your product and the alternative. This is also known as carbon footprint. We take a look at they key differences in life-cycle phases such as raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, use, and end-of-life. For sample of this report, click here.

HOW DO YOU MEASURE THE CARBON FOOTPRINT?

We use a tool which includes a database of some common products and their life-cycle impacts. Since there are some limitations in this database, the rest of the data comes from published research sources.

We consider all relevant variables in our search, such as location. We provide you with the source of our information so you can always confirm the validity of our information.

WHAT IF I'M IN THE RESEARCH PHASE AND NEED MORE THAN 3 REVISIONS OF THE REPORT?

No problem! We can give you access and training to the tool that we use to measure impact. Then, you can run as many impact scenarios as you like!

To do this, sign up for our virtual workshops by clicking here.

I'M NOT SURE IF THIS IS RIGHT FOR MY IDEA. WHAT SORT OF BUSINESSES DO YOU WORK WITH?

We work with start-up who have ideas for products, services, even apps, and community initiatives.

It's important to remember that carbon footprint means CO2 emissions. It does not take into consideration pollution from waste or human or eco-toxicity. These impact categories are covered in a more traditional life-cycle assessments.

I'M POSITIVE MY IDEA HAS A LOWER IMPACT THAN THE ALTERNATIVE. WHY WOULD I NEED YOU?

Figuring out the impact of a product requires us to take a look at its life-cycle, from raw material extraction to end-of-life. Making comparative decisions isn't intuitive. It requires science and much research.

For example, many believe that paper bags have a smaller carbon footprint compared to plastic bags. Science tells us that this is not true. When you consider all the life cycle phases and the resources used, plastic bags actually have a smaller environmental impact.

HOW DO YOU SUPPORT INCUBATORS AND ACCELERATOR PROGRAMS?

If you are part of 3 or more environmental start-ups, a workshop may be the best option for you. . We will provide you access and training on the tool that we use to measure impact. Workshops are about 4 hours and you will walk away with access to the tool for one year.

This tool requires you to have some background knowledge on climate change and its major causes. But don't worry, you're pretty smart. You will get the hang of it in no time.

I DON'T WANT TO SHARE MY PROPRIETARY INFORMATION. HOW CAN I STILL WORK WITH YOU?

We get it. That's why we're open to signing non-disclosure agreements with our clients. We want to respect your privacy and your information. If you're still not comfortable with this idea, contact us. We have other options.
